Bramshott Open Gardens weekend is returning after a four-year break and will be opened by renowned Anglophile and bestselling author Bill Bryson, who lives nearby.
‘BOG’, as it is affectionately known, is traditionally held every two years, and sees village gardens open to visitors to raise funds for local young people and causes.
As the largest event of its kind in Hampshire, there are more than 25 gardens open, covering a huge variety from courtyards and terraces to veggie patches to stunning show gardens with beautiful vistas and delightful ponds.
More than 70 residents volunteer over the highly-organised weekend to help with free parking, shuttle buses, tea tents, a barbecue, plant sale, tombola, art gallery, a classic car display as well as all the beautiful gardens!

A spokesman said: “We are excited to host this hugely-popular event again, and raise even more funds for our local causes, all of which have been hard hit by the events of the past couple of years.”
The last open gardens in 2018, with the proceeds from plant sales in 2020 and 2021, saw more than £20,000 donated to local causes including Macmillan Cancer, Liphook food bank, Liphook Football Club to help children of families suffering financial hardship, and Liphook Scouts and Guides to help ensure the greatest number of youngsters benefit from the facilities they offer.
The funds generated also supported the renovation of St Mary’s Church War Memorial, a new church kitchen, restoration of stone walling and the creation of a village memorial bench carved from a fallen oak tree.
The spokesman added: “We are keenly aware of the terrible events in Ukraine and decided to allocate a proportion of the funds raised to support displaced families for whom spending time in their own garden is a distant memory.”
